Q. The LapRest looks like polystyrene, will it fall to pieces?
LapRest is NOT made from expanded polystyrene. It is in fact made from ARPRO®, a Polyolefin renowned for strength and durability it is used extensively in the Automotive Industry!
Q. Where is the LapRest made?
LapRest is designed & manufactured in the UK and is made from a lightweight, durable, non toxic material called ARPRO®.
Q. Is the LapRest recyclable?
Yes the LapRest is 100% recyclable, however we don’t know why you would ever want to.
Q. Where do you ship the LapRest to?
We can currently ship the LapRest to anywhere in the UK.
Q. Is the LapRest available in a shop?
Currently the LapRest is only available for purchase from the SCA Online Shop.
Q. How do I buy the LapRest?
Visit the SCA Online shop, and click the LapRest category select the colour you would like and then add it to your shopping cart. Go to the check out and enter your details, then process your payment through the secure Protx sever. Your LapRest will arrive 3 to 4 working days later.
Q. I have a 17” Laptop, will your LapRest be able to hold it?
Yes your laptop will still fit the LapRest Platform, however you won’t be able to use the sliding studs that people with 14.1” laptops and smaller are able to use.
Q. What are the dimensions of the LapRest?
The external dimensions of the LapRest are: Width – 445mm / Depth – 280mm
Standard – studs support laptops up to 325mm wide – 14.1” screens
LapRest can be used with or without the extra sliding studs. Any specialist widescreen laptops wider than 359mm can be used on the LapRest by simply removing the studs. The rubber feet of the laptop will provide enough grip to prevent slipping.
Q. How does the LapRest protect me?
The properties that ARPRO® exhibits make it a great insulator from the extreme heat that all laptops generate, thus your legs can retain a normal temperature and you can keep cool.
Q. What are the sliding studs for?
The studs are provided if you require an extra level of security to hold your laptop in place, they are ideal if the rubber feet on you laptop have become warn or fallen off. The LapRest will hold your Laptop perfectly still without these studs.
Q. What about ventilation of Laptop?
A. The flat surface of the LapRest allows for proper ventilation as designed for by the laptop manufacturers. This will stop you and your laptop over heating preventing any loss in performance.
Q. Why are the coloured LapRest’s more expensive?
The material has to be coloured before it can be moulded to form a LapRest, this additional step in the supply chain inevitably makes the coloured products more expensive.
Q. What is LapRest made from?
ARPRO® material (expanded polypropylene) is mouldable foam which is environmentally friendly. This versatile material is used in many different industries. For example it is used in cars for impact protection, bumper cores and car seats.
Q. How long will the LapRest last for?
ARPRO® material is used in bumper cores & side impact protection in cars and is therefore very strong. However, we cannot guarantee the lifetime usage as this depends upon general handling of the product.
Q. How do I clean the LapRest?
A. LapRest should just wipe clean.
